RainDrop: Virtual Rain Gauge

Rainfall tracking for practical planning

RainDrop: Virtual Rain Gauge is a weather app that shows rainfall amounts for selected locations across the United States. It suits gardeners, farmers, outdoor workers, trail users, and anyone who needs more detail than a standard weather forecast. The app has a 4.45 rating from 1,624 reviews and more than 100,000 installs.

Current and past rainfall data

RainDrop provides current rainfall totals along with daily and hourly records, helping you see both recent conditions and how rainfall has changed over time. You can track multiple locations and compare current precipitation with typical average levels. This can be useful when checking whether a field, garden, work site, or trail has received enough rain to affect plans.

Forecasts and visual tools

The app includes a 16-day rainfall forecast and heat maps for viewing precipitation patterns across an area. It also offers an estimate of muddy ground conditions based on rainfall data, which may help with decisions about hiking, biking, construction access, landscaping, or outdoor events. Rainfall totals can be shared when you need to pass information to other people.
